An Act of Love—Giving Blood at 14th Annual Adam’s Army Blood Drive
To meet the urgent need for blood through area hospitals, Adam’s Army is recruiting donors
for their 14th annual blood drive, whose theme this year is An Act of Love--Giving Blood.
Donors are encouraged to register online for the drive, which will be held at Timothy Lutheran
Church, 425 NW RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, on Sunday, June 2, from 9am-3pm by going to
savealifenow.org/group; enter group code: CB3C.
Adam’s Army Blood Drive is held in honor of Adam Reed, the oldest of the five children of Mary
and Jeff Reed, who was diagnosed with leukemia just before his 13th birthday in 2003. Through two
bone marrow transplants and two years of battling leukemia, Adam’s family learned about the ongoing need for blood and blood products. This dedicated Community Blood Center drive will honor Adam while helping others. During his two-year unsuccessful fight with leukemia, Adam was supported by many friends and relatives, and especially his Timothy family, who became known as Adam’s Army. Their love and support for Adam during his battle with leukemia continues through this annual blood drive.
This year’s special t-shirt features the theme and will be given to the first 80 people to register
Also, all donors will be entered into a drawing for a variety of door prizes. A light lunch will be served
beginning at 11am. Contact the church with any questions (816.228.5300).
